Welcome to my monthly blog post where I create a simple intention inspired by a card reading for the month of September! Feel free to embrace this intention as your guiding light for the month (or for as long as it speaks to you)!

This month's tarot reading serves as a reminder to allow abundance to flow effortlessly to you.

Explore the detailed card reading below and embrace whatever resonates with you, while letting go of anything that doesn't. Remember, powerful messages have a way of finding you when you open your heart and pay attention.  💕

Intention Setting CARD Reading

I know, I know....I'm already using my Trick or Treat Tarot deck, but Halloween will be here before you know it, and I LOVE this deck so much, that I had to start using it for my September readings.  And the stores are filled with Halloween costumes and decorations, so that should give me a pass. right?  👻

Four of pentacles

The 4 of Pentacles traditionally symbolizes security, control, and possessiveness. It represents a strong desire to hold onto material wealth and resources, often stemming from a fear of loss or instability. While this card speaks to a certain level of financial stability, it also warns against the potential for materialistic tendencies, greed and stubbornness.

The 4 of Pentacles encourages you to shift your mindset from one of scarcity to one of generosity and trust. By releasing your tight grip on your possessions, you create space for new opportunities and greater wealth to enter your life.  What are you gripping onto?

Below are a few positive affirmations that resonate with the energy of the Four of Pentacles:

  • My generosity brings me greater wealth and joy
  • I trust the natural flow of giving and receiving
  • I create a prosperous and balanced life

King of pentacles

The King of Pentacles represents prosperity, stability, and success (he is also the richest King in all of the Tarot, so you know he's kind of a big deal). This card embodies the qualities of a wise and accomplished leader who has mastered the realm of finance, health, family relationships and material wealth. It signifies confidence, reliability, and enjoying the abundance that surrounds you.  Wealth, in it's traditional sense doesn't mean the same for everyone, so you may ask yourself what wealth means to you.

The King of Pentacles aligns perfectly with the affirmation "Abundance flows effortlessly to me" as it encourages you to step into your power and embrace your ability to manifest whatever abundance means for you. This King is not consumed by material possessions, although he does love to enjoy the finer things in life.  Most of all, he loves to share his resources with those he loves.  He also knows a thing or two about practicing gratitude, so what can you be grateful for in this moment?

Below are affirmations that align with the energy of the King of Pentacles:

  • I attract wealth and opportunities effortlessly
  • I am grateful for the abundance in my life
  • I enjoy my abundance and share it with others

seven of wands

The Seven of Wands signifies challenge, perseverance, and standing up for what you believe in. It represents the resilience and determination needed to overcome obstacles and defend one's position. This card speaks to the courage required to maintain our principles and continue pushing forward despite opposition.

The Seven of Wands encourages you to remain steadfast in your beliefs and actions. But what is is that you are standing up for?

We often find ourselves defending our limitations driven by fear and self-doubt. Consider what you truly want to stand up for and let’s rise together, shedding the things that hold us back.

Below are some affirmations that represent the energy of the Seven of Wands:

  • My determination paves the way for my success
  • I embrace my inner strength and power
  • My courage brings me closer to my goals

questions you can contemplate: 🤔

Journaling is a powerful tool for self-reflection and growth. If any of these resonate with you, take your time as you reflect and allow your thoughts and feelings to flow.  Be open to the insights and clarity that may arise.

  • What am I holding onto too tightly, and how can I release it?
  • In what ways can I use my resources to support others?
  • In what ways do I defend my limitations and what can I do to transcend them?

SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN USING AN INTENTION:

  • Write it down and put it where you can see it regularly (bathroom mirror, desk, beside table, wallet, etc).
  • Say it several times a day clearly affirming it - you can stand in a power pose (like running across the finish line), hands on hips (like Wonder Woman), placing your hands on your heart, or even doing a little dance.  Whatever makes you feel like this intention is possible when you say it, then do that!
  • Visualize for just a few minutes each day your intention as if it has already come true.
  • Practice your favourite Yoga Nidra meditation that allows you to state your intention during the practice.  When the mind and body are relaxed, your mind is much more susceptible to suggestions, so this can help make this intention become true for you even quicker than by doing it on a conscious level alone.
