SIX OF PENTACLES • THE DEVIL • FIVE OF SWORDS
This month’s tarot reading brings us into deep, tender territory—but don’t worry, it’s not here to call us out. It’s here to call us in.
At the centre of the reading sits the Six of Pentacles, a card that speaks to generosity, balance, and the dance of giving and receiving. But underneath this giving nature lie two powerful energies—the Devil and the Five of Swords—cards that shine a light on the unconscious patterns that can sneak into our relationships and exchanges.
Together, these three cards invite us to take a compassionate look at where our energy is going, and why. Many of us have learned to give from a place of habit, guilt, or people-pleasing. We pour from a cup that’s nearly empty, hoping that being generous will make us feel worthy, safe, or needed. The Devil speaks to the quiet ways we attach ourselves to being liked, being helpful, or being seen as “good”—even when it leaves us feeling drained. And the Five of Swords shows us the cost of those patterns: tension, fatigue, conflict and a slow drift away from ourselves.
This reading doesn’t ask us to stop being generous—it asks us to offer our energy more consciously, and to remember that receiving is just as sacred as giving. It reminds us that we are not here to fix, prove, or please. We are here to be real, to be loving, and to be free.
If you've been feeling depleted, resentful, or unsure where your energy has gone, you're not alone. These cards are here to lovingly say: it’s okay to pause. It’s okay to set something down. You don’t have to be everything to everyone. Sometimes, the most generous thing you can do is give back to yourself.
Take a breath. This is your time to reset, realign, and remember—you are allowed to be held, too.

Journaling is a powerful tool for self-reflection and growth. If any of these resonate with you, take your time as you reflect and allow your thoughts and feelings to flow. Be open to the insights and clarity that may arise.
- Where in my life am I giving too much, and why?
- What am I afraid will happen if I stop over giving or fixing things?
- How does it feel when I receive support with ease?
- What beliefs or patterns am I ready to release this month?
- When have I engaged in unnecessary conflict, and how can I respond differently next time?
