Welcome to my monthly blog post where I create a simple intention inspired by a monthly card reading! Feel free to embrace this intention as your guiding light for the upcoming month (or for as long as it speaks to you)!

This month's tarot reading beautifully revolves around cultivating self-compassion, recognizing the abundance in our lives, and navigating through internal or external conflicts with grace and integrity. This gentle nudge encourages us to foster not just material wealth, but to enrich our relationships, embrace self-care, and live in accordance with our truest values.

Explore the detailed card reading below and embrace whatever resonates with you, while letting go of anything that doesn't. Remember, powerful messages have a way of finding you when you open your heart and pay attention.  💕

Intention Setting CARD Reading

QUEEN OF PENTACLES

Embrace the energy and guidance from the Queen of Pentacles this month. She is a source of nurturing love, abundant generosity, and heartfelt compassion.  She is a reminder that true wealth is found not only in your finances but in your overall health, harmonious relationships, and the well-being of yourself and those you care for. Think of her as the Earth Mother, where everything about her feels comforting, nourishing and just like home.

She is the most grounded, practical and down to earth Queen in the Tarot.  If you find yourself in need of advice this month, turn to a loving, compassionate and genuine person for guidance.  Or perhaps you'll be that source of comfort for someone else.

Let the Queen of Pentacles inspire you to connect with nature and animals, to ground yourself and to infuse your daily life with the joy of true abundance.  She is the heart of the home, so you may even be inspired to re-decorate, spring clean or try out that new recipe you've been eyeing.

She also teaches the importance and value of appreciation, reminding you to cherish and be grateful for the abundance that already exists in your life. By focusing on the wealth you have—in your career, family relationships, health, experiences, and material comforts—you attract more of these blessings.

As you step into this energy, take some time to contemplate what wealth means to you personally. Where can you find abundance already present in your life? Where can you be more generous, love more, and appreciate more? The Queen of Pentacles doesn't just exist outside of us; she is a reflection of our own capacity to nurture, create, and celebrate the wealth of life in all its forms.

Embrace her energy with these simple yet powerful affirmations:

  • I create balance between work, play, and rest with ease.
  • My life is full of wealth in its many beautiful forms.
  • I nurture myself and others with love and compassion.
  • Every day, I appreciate the blessings that surround me.
  • My heart and home are filled with the richness of life.
  • I am grounded in the abundance of love and joy that surrounds me.
Let the Queen of Pentacles be your guide this month as you explore the depths of your own abundance.

FIVE OF SWORDS

It's common to feel a little uneasy about the fives in Tarot, as they can signify challenge and change, but the Five of Swords asks you to take a moment, breathe, and reflect.

When the Five of Swords makes an appearance, it can indicate a good time to examine your thought patterns. It asks you to wonder, "Are my thoughts leading me toward feeling defeated? Am I so determined to be right that I could hurt someone in the process? Do I sometimes think victory is the only option, no matter the cost? Or does the fear of failing hold me back from taking steps forward?" If any of these questions resonate with you, it might be time to gently explore those fears that might be putting up roadblocks in your path.

Words, much like swords, can cut deeply. Pay attention to how you’re speaking to others, and importantly, to yourself. Are your words uplifting or self-sabotaging?

This card is also a reminder that not all battles are worth our energy and that sometimes, acknowledging our vulnerabilities and choosing to step away is the truest form of bravery and strength. It invites us to examine the motives behind our actions and to pursue our goals with integrity, fairness, and compassion towards ourselves and others.

We've all faced setbacks, but they don't have to define our journey. Perhaps now is a good time to reflect on and to release any self-limiting beliefs that have been holding you back because you fear failure or defeat in some way. And If you're in the midst of a struggle, ask yourself if the victory is truly worth it. And if you decide to go for it, lead with integrity and fairness.

Here are some positive affirmations inspired by the Five of Swords:

I choose peace.
My words are uplifting to myself and others.
I honour my integrity in every action I take.
I communicate with compassion and understanding.

Remember, the path to true victory is through understanding and peace, both with others and within yourself.

KING PENTACLES

Imagine someone who absolutely loves the finer things in life but doesn't let those things define him. That's the King of Pentacles! He is the epitome of success, leadership, wealth, stability, reliability, and generosity. He's worked hard for what he has achieved, and is now enjoying and sharing his abundance.  His approach to life is not solely focused on material wealth; instead, he values the stability and security that comes with it. Our King of Pentacles is a true testament to what it means to be successful and grounded, encouraging you to stay true to your beliefs and to your words.

The energy of this card is inviting you to check in on what you're building - not just for yourself, but for those around you.  Are you savouring the abundance in your life? This card encourages you to dream big and take inspired action towards your dreams, at the same time, reminding you to have fun along the way.  The King of Pentacles wants you to plant your desires like seeds in the soil, nurturing them with patience and persistence.

The earth element tied to the suit of pentacles in the Tarot, reminds us that we can achieve our desires and live an abundant life.  It all starts with appreciation for what we have now so we can achieve more of those blessings (sound familiar - this is the same message as in the Queen of Wands).

Seeing this King in a reading may also indicate some positive news about success, prosperity and well-being.  It may be a new career opportunity, business venture or something tied to real-estate.

This King is also very grounded and connected to nature so take some time this month to get outside and get grounded!  His energy encourages you to enjoy life's pleasures without being consumed by them, and to remember that the most fulfilling achievements are those shared with others.

Below are a few positive affirmations that harness the energy of the King of Pentacles:

  • I am a magnet for prosperity, success, and abundance.
  • Every step I take is grounded in confidence and stability.
  • I joyfully share my abundance.
  • Success flows to me easily and effortlessly.
  • I manifest my deepest desires with ease and grace.
Let the King of Pentacles inspire your journey towards a fulfilling and abundant life!

Putting it all together.....

This month's tarot reading brought forward a fascinating and rare alignment with the appearance of both the Queen and King of Pentacles. Their appearance together is a powerful symbol of balance, stability, prosperity and the nurturing of familial bonds. They call upon us to appreciate and celebrate the wealth of our connections, achievements, and the harmony that comes from a life lived with intention and integrity.

However, the presence of the Five of Swords introduces a compelling contrast, drawing attention to the inevitable conflicts we face, be it with others or within ourselves. This card invites us to navigate through life's challenges with the wisdom and grounding the Queen and King of Pentacles embody. It's a powerful reminder that even during times of struggle, we possess the ability to remain anchored, drawing upon our inner resources and the support structures around us to find peace and resolution.

With the strong presence of the suit of pentacles, we're being encouraged to ground ourselves and connect with nature and to appreciate the abundance already in our lives.  And the suit of swords reminds us to communicate with ourselves and others in a kind and compassionate way.

questions you can contemplate: 🤔

Journaling is a powerful tool for self-reflection and growth. If any of these resonate with you, take your time as you reflect and allow your thoughts and feelings to flow.  Be open to the insights and clarity that may arise.  And since the energy of nature and being grounded are so prevalent in this month's reading, why not go outside and reflect in nature with your journal?

  • Write about a woman in your life who embodies the qualities of the Queen of Pentacles. What have you learned from her?
  • In what area of your life do you currently feel abundant or prosperous?
  • How can you foster a deeper connection with the earth and nature?
  • What does wealth mean to you?
  • How can you better nurture yourself, especially during times of stress or challenge?
  • What grounding practices or rituals do you or could you incorporate into your life?
  • How do you typically handle disagreements or disputes? Do you strive for peace, or do you feel the need to prove you're right? Explore the reasons behind your approach.
  • Reflect on how you communicate with yourself.  Are your words uplifting most of the time, or does the inner critic tend to take over?  How can you speak more kindly to yourself.  What would you say?
  • Reflect on your career or current path. How does it nourish you, not just financially, but emotionally?
  • Identify something you wish to manifest in your life. What practical steps can you take towards this goal?
  • Write about a time when you took a leadership role. How did it feel? What did you learn about yourself and others through this experience?
  • The King of Pentacles thrives on stability. Reflect on what stability means to you in your personal life. How can you create a more stable and secure environment for yourself and your loved ones?

SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN USING AN INTENTION:

  • Write it down and put it where you can see it regularly (bathroom mirror, desk, beside table, wallet, etc).
  • Say it several times a day clearly affirming it - you can stand in a power pose (like running across the finish line), hands on hips (like Wonder Woman), placing your hands on your heart, or even doing a little dance.  Whatever makes you feel like this intention is possible when you say it, then do that!
  • Visualize for just a few minutes each day your intention as if it has already come true.
  • Practice your favourite Yoga Nidra meditation that allows you to state your intention during the practice.  When the mind and body are relaxed, your mind is much more susceptible to suggestions, so this can help make this intention become true for you even quicker than by doing it on a conscious level alone.
